The Villa

A cliffside estate, fully staffed, perched above the Pacific in Puerto Vallarta's Beverly Hills.

Casa Buena Vida sits on 1,210 m² (13,000 ft²) of land in Lower Conchas Chinas, the cliffside enclave known as Puerto Vallarta's Beverly Hills. The villa's architectural ethereal design gives it a temple-like quality: sky-high vaulted ceilings, a cupula-topped stairway, massive columns and beams, and lofty arched doors that frame a dramatic and sparkling Pacific overlook.

A dedicated houseman, chef, waiter and housekeeper bring the house to life with two meals a day prepared family-style, alongside daily housekeeping and a complimentary concierge for spa, transport and excursions. Casa Buena Vida is a five-minute walk to Conchas Chinas Beach, five minutes from the Romantic Zone, and ten minutes from downtown Puerto Vallarta and the Malecón.

A Day at Casa Buena Vida

Three moments, on repeat.

01
Morning palapa breakfast

Arrive

Coffee at nine on the cliffside terrace, breakfast served family-style with the Pacific below. Roberto greets your arrival, Miguel confirms the day's menu, and Enrique has already arranged your first excursion.

02
Pool and rooftop terrace

Settle

The saltwater pool is heated and waiting, the jacuzzi too. Sun loungers, the five-minute walk to Conchas Chinas Beach for snorkeling on the rocks. By midafternoon the cocktails appear without needing to ask — Roberto's mojitos especially.

03
Dinner under the palapa at sunset

Linger

Dinner served outdoors as the sun sinks into the Pacific, mariachi if you've asked. Alejandra has the rooms turned down, the staff bid you good night, and the Bay of Banderas falls quiet under the lights of Vallarta.

Accommodations

Six suites, three floors, all king beds, ocean and pool views.

Four bedrooms occupy the main villa across top and middle floors; two casitas sit poolside as detached private retreats. All six suites feature a king bed and accommodate two guests — a maximum of twelve in the full villa. Tap any suite to see its full photo set.

Services & Amenities

Everything is taken care of, before you arrive.

The Casa Buena Vida team — Roberto, Enrique, Miguel and Alejandra — has cared for the villa for years. Cooking, cleaning, mixing cocktails, arranging excursions; your only job is to enjoy it.

Chef & Kitchen

The chef prepares two meals a day, family-style, with menu suggestions sent before arrival. Choose breakfast and lunch, or breakfast and dinner. Vegetarian, gluten-free and other dietary needs are accommodated. Groceries are billed at cost plus a 10% shopping fee.

Daily Housekeeping

Maid service from 9 am to 4 pm. Staff is off Sundays and national holidays — Sunday service is available for arrivals and departures only. Personal laundry can be arranged with the houseman for an extra gratuity.

Concierge

The complimentary concierge handles spa appointments, transport, restaurant reservations, sportfishing charters, sailing, and any excursion in or around Puerto Vallarta. Just ask the houseman.

Pool & Jacuzzi

A heated saltwater pool — easier on the eyes and skin than chlorine — plus a separate jacuzzi, both with sweeping ocean views. Loungers, multiple outdoor dining areas, and the Pacific just below.

Beach & Snorkeling

Conchas Chinas Beach is a five-minute walk — one of the most striking beaches on the south shore. Snorkeling around the rocks just below the villa is excellent; ask the houseman for gear and the best spots.

Indoor Comforts

Sky-high vaulted ceilings, hand-laid stonework, multiple living and dining areas. Air conditioning throughout, WiFi in every space, smart TVs in bedrooms, and a quiet rhythm anchored by the cupula-topped stairway at the heart of the house.

The Setting

Conchas Chinas — cliffside, ten minutes from town.

Lower Conchas Chinas — known as Puerto Vallarta's Beverly Hills — is a hillside enclave of cantilevered villas perched above the Pacific, less than a mile south of downtown. The Romantic Zone is five minutes by car, the Malecón ten minutes, and the beach a five-minute walk down through the cliffs. The villa fishes, snorkels, and watches the sunset directly off its own rocks.

Frequently Asked

Everything you might want to know.

Casa Buena Vida sleeps 8 or 12 guests and is offered in two configurations: 4 bedrooms for up to 8 guests in the main villa, or the full 6 bedrooms for up to 12 guests with the addition of the casita. The casita is reached by its own staircase and private entrance rather than from inside the main house, so it is best suited to adults and is not recommended for unattended children. It also differs from the main-villa suites in size and finishes.

Your stay is fully staffed for comfort and personalized service. The team includes a private cook who prepares two meals a day, a houseman who also serves and tends bar, a housekeeper and full-service concierge. The villa offers a heated saltwater pool, jacuzzi, multiple outdoor dining and lounging areas, and air conditioning throughout. Staff are off on Sundays and national holidays. Food and beverages are billed separately from the rental.

Housekeeping is provided daily from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The cook serves two meals each day — breakfast and lunch, or breakfast and dinner — with the kitchen closing no later than 7:00 pm and light snacks available on request in between. Breakfast is typically served from 9:00 am and dinner concludes by 7:00 pm, after which the team tidies the dining areas and serves a final round of beverages. Earlier breakfasts, later dinners or extended hours can be arranged with at least 24 hours' notice and an additional fee; we recommend confirming your preferred schedule with the staff on arrival.

Food and beverages are billed separately from the villa rental. To stock the villa for your arrival, an advance food-and-beverage deposit of $1,500 USD is collected with your final balance, and the staff make one grocery run per day — please submit requests at least 24 hours ahead where possible. A 15% shopping-and-handling fee applies to grocery purchases, and credit-card reimbursements carry a 5% processing fee. As a planning guide, most groups budget roughly $40–$60 USD per guest, per day for three meals plus beverages, though all spending is at your discretion.

Yes. Before arrival you'll receive a detailed guest-preference form so the chef can tailor menus, dietary needs and dining experiences to your group, and sample menus are shared to help with planning. Meals are served family-style — the same appetizer, main and dessert for the table — and vegetarian, gluten-free, allergy-sensitive and other dietary requests are accommodated wherever possible. Larger groups requiring fully customized menus may need additional lead time.

Gratuities are always appreciated and are best left in cash, as they go directly to the team and are shared across housekeeping and kitchen staff alike. Tipping is entirely at your discretion and should reflect the service you receive; as a general guideline we suggest a minimum of $60–$70 USD per bedroom, per day, with more for larger dinners, celebrations or events that call for extended service. Envelopes are provided for your convenience.

Value season (May 1 – October 31): from $1,150/night for 4 bedrooms up to $1,450/night for 6 bedrooms, 4-night minimum. Peak season (November 1 – April 30): from $1,350 up to $1,650/night, 5-night minimum — U.S. Thanksgiving also requires 5 nights. The Christmas and New Year holidays are full-villa (6-bedroom) bookings with a 7-night minimum, from $2,355 up to $2,600/night; reservations overlapping both holiday periods cannot be accommodated. Add 16% tax to all rates. Casa Buena Vida does not accept student groups.

Conchas Chinas — one of Puerto Vallarta's most scenic beaches — is about a five-minute walk down through the villa's oceanfront. Depending on the tide the sandy stretch can sit a little farther out, and the terrain is uneven, so the route isn't ideal for guests with limited mobility. Downtown Puerto Vallarta is roughly 8 minutes away by car, and Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) is about a 35–40-minute drive.

Casa Buena Vida does not host large celebratory events that exceed its guest capacity. We are, however, delighted to welcome milestone birthdays, bachelorette parties, family gatherings, corporate retreats and wellness events. Please contact us with your plans and we'll be glad to share what's possible.

To protect the residence and accommodate guests and staff with sensitivities, pets and animals are not permitted anywhere on the premises. Smoking is not allowed inside the villa or its rooms; any indoor smoking incurs a deodorizing fee. The villa is multi-level with stairs throughout and is not wheelchair accessible or ADA-adapted, so guests are responsible for determining whether the property suits their accessibility needs and for arranging any personal assistance or equipment.

All on-site services — including massage therapists, musicians, entertainers, yoga instructors and similar providers — must be arranged through villa management and concierge. Outside vendors hired independently are not permitted unless approved in advance by villa management.

Yes. To respect neighboring homes and guests, noise and music must be kept at considerate levels at all times, and quiet hours are observed daily from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am.

Yes. The pool is heated seasonally from November through April and maintained up to roughly 85°F for your comfort. During Puerto Vallarta's warmer months heating is generally unnecessary, but summer pool heating can be arranged on request for an additional fee.

You can also email book@casalabuenavida.com or rocio@villaexperience.com. We respond within 24 hours. A 50% deposit confirms your reservation, with the balance due 60 days before arrival. Because each stay is carefully planned, last-minute bookings are generally not available, so early inquiries are recommended.
